Health and safety
Healthy food Policy:
These are provided by the parents. We encourage Healthy eating so have provided you with a few suggestions/recommendations. We have two snack times during the day: breakfast and lunch. Each snack should be in different boxes in an appropriate bag.
We believe that eating healthily is extremely important in the development of young children. We recognize that children should be able to enjoy food as well as learn good eating habits for the future.
Here are some suggestions:
- Vegetables and Fruits (either salads or steamed).
- All kinds of yogurt, water, milk, and fresh juice.
- Rice, pasta, chicken or meat (without bones), home-cooked meals.
- Sandwiches such as cheese, chicken, meat.
- Cereals, biscuits
Foods that are not allowed:
Being A nut Free Organization all food containing nuts are not allowed along with below food:-
- Chocolate and peanut sandwiches.
- Indomi, fried egg.
- Chips, chocolate, nuts.
- Crisps & all kinds of fizzy drinks (coca, pepsi, 7up…..).
- Chewing gum and sweets.
Hygiene:
- Daily cleaning of all toys and surfaces within the classrooms.
- Strict Cleaning schedule for all areas of the Nursery.
- Strict Hand Hygiene Procedures.
- Our nursery is subject to regular inspection to ensure compliance with ADEK & H&S, from staffing, organization and curriculum to equipment, food and drink, safety and hygiene.
Safety:
For the safety of your child and others. Please remember to close the Safety Gates when entering and leaving the Nursery Grounds and corridor. If someone else is going to be dropping off your child, please make sure they are aware of these rules.
We have invested heavily in facilities such as:
- Interconnected fire and smoke alarm systems.
- Finger guards around doors.
- Safety gates.
- Heat regulated taps.
- Fire doors throughout.
- Clearly marked escape routes.
- Emergency lighting.
- List of people allowed to collect your child
- CCTV Cameras have been installed throughout the Nursery. Staff and Students are observed by management Staff to ensure the security of all while on the premises.
Contacts and security:
We display an index card in the classroom which has emergency contacts, Persons allowed to Pick up your child, Allergy Issues and First Aid Consent. If someone comes to pick up your child and they are not on the list, they will not be allowed to take him. With this in mind, please make sure you alert your child’ career if sending someone else to collect your child so that your child doesn’t get upset while awaiting confirmation by you.
The purpose of these policies is to ensure the children’s safety at all times. Parents are asked to adhere to our policy & procedures:
- Parents and carers will be asked to ensure that all the safety gates are locked when entering and leaving the area.
- Non frequent visitors are met by our Administration staff at the entrance.
- Kindly let us know if any of your details change, especially your mobile or landline numbers.
- For the Absences: there is no refund for any absences due to illness, Family Vacation, school Holidays and Islamic holidays during term time.
- Parents App: Along with emails provided by teachers and administration, the nursery also has a parent application that is utilized for communication. This is your direct line of communication with the teacher, and we urge every parent to take the time to read the posts and emails the nursery sends out each day in order to stay informed about their kid. It will let you know how your child’s day went at Nursery as well as letting you know what she/he ate, Diaper/Potty Times… Please check the App daily in case there is an important message from the Teacher.
- Every parent is also urged to look for significant newsletters or announcements.
- Parent App: Each child's profile in the nursery will have a monthly academic report that you may see through the app. There will be scheduled parent-teacher conferences when parents can see their child's profile and talk to the nursery staff about their child's development.
Kindly send the following items:
- Water bottle
- Sun Hat/ Sun cream for outside time. We recommend that you apply Sun cream to your child before coming to Nursery as their outdoor time is usually just after they arrive.
- Nappies/ Wet wipes/ Nappy Cream ( if your child needs these items.)
- A clean set of clothes in the event of messy accidents (including underwear and socks.) Please make sure these are well labeled with your child’s name. If your child is Potty Training, please send in more than one set of clothing.
